Santa Came Early This Year!

Merry Christmas to Us!! Well, Santa paid an early visit to the Tarros this year, we will no longer be a Tarro Trio, but a Tarro Foursome! Baby #2 is on its way in July. I'll keep you all updated with all the details but for now we are just enjoying the thought of our growing family.

We decided to take some pictures in the bluebonnets at Rob Fleming park since we have been having such great weather this Spring! Could I BE any worse at updating my blog? (chandler voice) Well, time does fly especially in this gorgeous weather we are having! I love Spring except for the pollen, that part is sick. Paige has been keeping us pretty busy, she loves to be outside, she is very talkative, kinda shy (until she feels comfortable about a situation), and is a great dancer! Clay and I were able to go to Steamboat with some friends a couple of weeks ago and have our own Spring Break, so Paige got to stay with her Grandparents for a few days, thanks Grammy and Grandpa! Although this wasn't your typical crazy college spring break, we certainly acted like it was, we had a great time!

I can't believe it has been two months since my last post! To my faithful readers: I am sorry. But we're back and we had a great Christmas and we're off to a good new year! Christmas Eve we were stuck at the Houston airport for about 8 hours, our flight was cancelled, so we left the airport and stayed with my parents for the night. Then my Dad took us back to the airport on Christmas morning, we flew into Midland and Clay's parents picked us up and drove us to Lubbock. We were exhausted! After Christmas in Lubbock we flew to Steamboat to celebrate the New Year, it was great and a lot of fun! Lots of skiing, sledding, shopping, and a surprise visit from Megan and Dallas. It was a fun holiday season but we are happy to be home and back into our normal routine. Hopefully you still remember what we look like since it's been so long, here are some pictures to help you out.

We went to the Junior League Gingerbread Workshop last weekend with the cousins. There was a little bit more eating going on then decorating, but it was fun to watch them anyway! At the workshop we also took a picture with Santa which turned out exactly the way I thought it would.

30 Years Old, what?!

So Clay is a little freaked out today...not only is he 30 (i'm 2 years younger by the way) but he is already worried about Paige wearing thongs and lacy bras (don't ask). All I did was pull out a sock and show him how cute it was and he started rubbing his forehead (as he does when he is seriously thinking about something) and chugging his birthday beer. (a huge Foster's!) So Happy Birthday Daddy/Hubby...we love you...you are one of the hardest working, most ambitious, loving, caring, respectful men I know. I am lucky to know you and most of all, lucky to be married to you! We love you!

Paige is 1 year old today! I can't believe we made it! It has been a crazy year for sure, after enduring Hurricane Ike, learning what it feels like to be a parent and loving someone so much that you miss her when she sleeps...she has definitely brought so much joy into our lives. We thank God for her presence in our lives everyday. Here are some things we love about our beautiful daughter:

-She has a great smile, with the cutest dimples!
-She has always been a good sleeper, thank God (and Clay) for that!
-She is very stubborn, like me
-She loves Hazie or "Zee"
-I think her first words were Zee and Dada, she babbles a ton but those are the first words I have been able to make out
-She's got the greatest, chubbiest legs
-Her eyes never lie
-I have felt a connection with her since day 1
-She is in love with her cousin Jackson and her boyfriend Brady
-She "talks" while she eats
-I love the way she smells her "lovey" and looks like she is plotting some kind of evil plan

From Dada---
-She makes my day, everyday
-She's another beautiful "Sweetie" of mine, along with Kelly (and Hazie)
-She laughs at my jokes and funny faces (and is often the only one laughing with me)
-I love everything about her...we're simply Blessed

We don't go to the doctor until next week so I'll update her stats then. She is not walking yet, so for now, crawling or climbing seem like the way to go. Happy Birthday Baby! We love you Paige!

For Clay's 30th birthday I surprised him with a trip to Chicago...three days in the windy city, complete with a baseball game at Wrigley...top that Tarro! We had the best time, the weather was great, GG and Uncle Dave were the perfect hosts! We went to a Cubs game, played at GG's house, saw both of Dave's new offices and visited Cantigny. We can't wait to go back to the windy city!!

Well, not for me! I always get very sad, actually irritated at this time of year that I don't get to go back to college!! I love my life and am very blessed to lead the life that I do, but at the same time I really miss my college life, my friends, the free time, everything!! Paige has definitely brought new meaning to my life and I am so lucky to have a happy, healthy, beautiful baby girl! I also have a really great group of friends now and I don't know how I would have survived the first year of Paige's life without them. I love you all!

Paige has been crawling for the past couple of months and is almost walking, she cruises along on everything, stands on her own and will walk with my hands...it's so cute! We are getting excited for her first birthday...I cannot believe that we have almost made it to one year....what a milestone!

Summer 2009

We've had such a fun and busy summer so far, here are some pics from Seattle, Red River and Steamboat and we still have a couple of trips to round out the summer before the fall! Hopefully there will be a TTU game or two in our future to get excited about!! So, a little update on Paige: she is crawling, she is cruising, she is climbing, she is into everything! She has also developed quite the personality...she will definitely let me know if she is unhappy about something or if she doesn't want to go somewhere, or if she just thinks that I am being unreasonable. Paige is a very happy baby, loves to be outside, around her friends and around her cousins...she's very social! We have been very blessed to have a happy, healthy little girl!

6 month checkup

Well, it has been a long time since my last post...so sorry to all of my loyal readers. 2 things to address in this post: Paige's 6 month stats and The Bachelor.
First of all, my sweet little Paigey Poo had her 6 month checkup today and is doing great! She is in the 50-75th percentile and here are her current numbers:

Weight: 15 lbs. 12 oz.
Length: 26.25

She is changing so much and is such a smart and fun baby! She reaches for everything, sits up unsupported, laughs, talks, screams and wants to stand and play all the time! She is not a big fan of her car seat anymore and she refuses to be on her back (she will do crunches until you pick her up) unless she is sleeping. She is getting better about being with different people which makes mama happy! She is just a joy to watch and she makes my heart smile everyday.

Now, The Bachelor. What the heck Jason? How could he do that to sweet Melissa? I had to tell Paige to watch out for guys like that. And he better quit playing the 'poor me' card because I am sick of it! The only good thing that came out of this was that Melissa is now on Dancing with the Stars! Ok, enough. I'm over it.

Definitely in need of a little hair cut.

A little belated valentine's message, but since sleeping beauty is letting me have a few moments to myself, I thought I would do a quick post. Our valentine's day was great! We got flowers from Clay and we went to the Galleria to do some shopping. Paige has almost mastered rolling over and she is doing very well sitting up on her own...she will occasionally crash and burn, but she can handle it and I'm sure there are much more serious bumps and bruises to come!

I know what you're thinking, and no, it's not the sound of the music next door that the workers are listening to that sounds like a mariachi band is playing in our living room, no...Paige laughed for the first time yesterday! A real belly laugh, it was so cute, unfortunately I couldn't run downstairs fast enough to get the video camera...hopefully there will be more chuckles in our future and less maraccas.
Paige is also doing many new things now including but not limited to laughing, putting her feet in her mouth, trying sooo hard to roll over, pulling her paci out of her mouth (but failing to put it back in!), actually playing in her exersaucer, testing out the jumparoo, she does ab crunches and we went down the slide at the park for the first time today. She is a growing girl too, I can feel her getting heavier by the day maybe it's because of all the cereal she chows down daily!

4 Months Old!

New things are happening for Paige each day. She is now 4 months old and grabbing our faces (and our drinks), trying to roll over, eating cereal and talking (or screaming) constantly. It is so great to watch her grow and re-live all of the new things with her. Here are her current stats:

Length: 25.25"
Which puts her in the 75th - 90th percentile

Weight: 13lbs 13ozs
Which puts her in the 50th - 75th percentile

Also, we have been having weekly playdates with Paige's cousins, Kendall and Jackson...we are so happy they live so close and so happy that everyone will soon be able to run and play together...for now, Paige mostly watches Kendall and Jackson and Hazie is a great source of entertainment for all!

Don't even think about coming near me with that cereal.

We had a great Thanksgiving...BB and Papoo Tarro came down from Lubbock to spend a few days with us and we celebrated Turkey day over at Grammy and Grandpa Hiller's house with Great Uncle Dave, Aunt Megan and the GG's. We ate too much of course, played a few games and had a lot of laughs...all in all a great couple of days! It was such a pretty weekend, we just had to take advantage! We played at the park and went to Market Street to do some early Christmas shopping...we have awesome weather during this time of the year, so it is fun to be outside as much as possible. I also got a hot stone massage on Saturday morning which was fabulous and was a gift from my wonderful husband...you simply must try one!

We had Paige's 2 month check up yesterday and here are her current stats: 11 lbs 8 oz and 23 inches long! She is a growing girl! In addition to finding out her weight and length and chatting with Dr. Chandler, the 2 month check up also means...SHOTS! It was a very sad moment...we were laughing and smiling and having a great time and then BAM! 3 shots to the thighs. Paige had a look of surprise and then she turned to me and Clay with a look of WHY? and then the huge crocodile tears came. It was so sad, but we made it thru the day and Paige slept away the pain. I thought it would make everyone feel better if we went to the mall and did some shopping, it definitely lifted our spirits! (except when the guy at the dead sea kiosk told me I had bags under my eyes and wrinkles, ah well)

We are so proud of our Red Raiders and we cannot believe that we are ranked #2 in the nation! Awesome. Paige consistently shows her support by sporting her Texas Tech onesies...she wears one every game so it must be good luck. Last week was the Junior League Holiday Market, so Barbara (Paige's BB) came in town to help me out a bit and we are so sad that she is gone, she was a huge help and we miss her already! The Market was a success and thankfully no one was hurt in the process :) and it was well worth it for BB to make the trip down here to help. Thanks BB!

Let's see...we have been doing a lot these past couple of weeks...gaining weight, tummy time, going to the pumpkin patch and big girl baths! Paige now weighs 11 lbs, or close to it. Me and my mom weighed ourselves (and no, I am not disclosing my weight) and then held Paige and weighed ourselves again and both came out 11 lbs heavier! She loves taking baths, it really calms her down and we are getting better at tummy time. We celebrated Dad's birthday and Uncle Paul's birthday with burgers and cookie cake. Happy birthday boys! Hope everyone has a happy halloween!

Paige will be one month old on Tuesday, we can't believe it has already been a month since she was born...time certainly does fly when you are busy with a baby! For the past three nights Paige has been sleeping very well, she will go down around 11:30pm and won't get up until about 6am...it has been great so far, we'll see how long this trend lasts! During the day she still sleeps a lot but is awake much more now, so we play, go on walks (which is interesting with a stroller and Hazie) run short errands and visit with friends. Life has been good for the Tarro family...we're just having fun watching her grow and learning more about her each day.

Paige is now 17 days old and we had her 2 week check-up yesterday...she is a growing girl!! She now weighs 8 lbs. 10 oz. and is 21.25 inches long! We are thrilled at how well she is growing!! She is a great baby and we just like sitting there staring at her and making funny faces at her...she probably already thinks her parents are big dorks. Cousin Jackson had his 3rd birthday on September 15th so we went over to Aunt Lu and Uncle Paul's house to have a family party...she did great for her first birthday party! Grammy and Grandpa Tarro are in town for a few days so we have been enjoying spending time with them and letting them bond with Paige. Here are some recent pics of the past couple of weeks.

Well, I hope everyone in the Houston area made it thru Hurricane Ike, that was a pretty devastating and shocking event. Right in the middle of the hurricane and the power outage, Paige decided it was a good time to make her debut! Thankfully the hospital got their power back the morning we arrived and all went according to plan. She is a beautiful, healthy baby weighing in at 8 lbs. 1 oz. 21 in. long. Thank you all for you texts, phone calls and email messages and we'll try to talk to everyone and respond as soon as we can! So, if all goes to plan, we are scheduled to be induced on Tuesday, September 16th! Unless she comes before then and unless there are other medical emergencies at the hospital that will need to go before us, we finally have a due date to look forward to! Well, it appears that Paige is taking her sweet time to get here...she must take after her Dad! I went to the doctor this morning and I am not dilated yet, but her head is down and she is in position. He said she could come tonight or within the week, so we're crossing our fingers for tonight! Not much of an update I know, so we'll just let nature take its course and she'll come when she is good and ready. Hmmm, maybe she takes after her Mom.

Update on the Tarros...

I apologize for slacking in the blogging department, but we have been in limbo since we moved out of our townhome last month and into the Hiller Casa. We move into our new house on Thursday and once I get my computer set up I promise I will be a better blogger! We have a lot to report on though. I've had two really great baby showers, one in Dallas and one in The Woodlands...thanks again to the hostesses of both of those showers! Clay is now working as the President of Customer Impact, a market research company and I am working as a realtor for RE/MAX. Baby Tarro is healthy and kicking away and will be with us soon...we can hardly wait! I will post pictures of her nursery when we get that set up. We move into our house on Thursday and will hopefully get a lot of unpacking done this weekend. Our lives are keeping us pretty busy and we are trying to keep our sanity, so far so good, no breakdowns yet! Check back soon for some pics...

So Clay and I go over to my parents house on Sunday thinking we are going to have a nice, relaxing couple of hours at the pool before we have to go home and get some work done. We forgot that Jackson and Kendall were spending the weekend at the grandparents house while Lindsay and Paul were at a wedding in San Antonio. Once Jackson heard that Uncle Clay was coming over it was non-stop pool action for about 2 hours! We had the best time with him, well Clay (Uncle Cuh-way) and Jackson had a great time, Jackson didn't want much to do with Hazie or Aunt Kelly (Chuy). Needless to say, Clay's arms were really sore on Sunday night. It was so fun watching Clay toss Jackson in the air, it was great training...Clay is going to be a great Dad.

26 Weeks!

Well, I am rounding out the 2nd trimester and am about to enter the lovely 3rd trimester...only about 14 weeks to go now! We have been taking our pre-child birth classes which is a good learning experience (a little too good, at times) and will help us prepare for the big day. I still feel like there is A LOT to do especially since I can't set up the nursery until we move into our new house in early August. I will post pictures of the baby's room when I can get in there and start decorating. Oh well, nothing like saving everything until the last minute.

Congratulations to Megan and Clay! We are so excited that they are both graduated and finished with school. We celebrated Clay's graduation from Rice on Thursday at the George R. Brown Convention Center and then went to dinner at Mia Bella in Houston. The next morning we drove to Lubbock for Meg's graduation from TTU and had a party at her house. Sunday was Mother's Day, so we did a little celebrating in Lubbock for that as well. More pics to come!

We did a joint celebration for me and my Dad's birthdays at my parents house last weekend. Great hamburgers and awesome angel food cake (thanks Grammy)! Thanks everyone for the birthday cards, phone calls and texts, I had a great day yesterday...although I was working, after work Clay took me to Jasper's for a good meal and then back home to watch The Bachelor and Dancing with the Stars...almost a perfect day...if I could have just fit some shopping in...

We found out on Monday morning that we are having a girl! We are so excited and can't wait to meet her! She has already been kicking me and moving around like a champ. We just purchased a lot to build a new house! We are building in The Woodlands in a subdivision called, Creekside. We are so excited to have a new house to bring Tiny Tarro home to. -Chewy Sweet Tarts (I cannot find the BIG chewy sweet tarts anywhere and it is driving me crazy, I am about to order them online, how sad.)

And I guess I wouldn't really call them cravings b/c I eat those things all the time now. Yes, I do love being pregnant!

Another update: I am not wearing maternity clothes just yet thanks to the little miracles that I like to call the Bella Band and Empire Waist shirts. Although, when I am ready to wear maternity clothes, my fabulous sister Lindsay has given me all of hers, thanks Lu! Also, some friends who will remain nameless have offered to let me go shopping in their closets (or boxes) of maternity clothes, don't think I have forgotten that. I will post some pictures of my growing belly soon!

Well, we have some big news to share. It will no longer be the two of us, but the three of us in our growing family! Clay and I found out about a month ago that we are pregnant. We are 12 weeks along and the due date is September 7th, 2008! We are so happy about our impending 'Tiny Tarro' and I'll update the blog when I have more exciting pictures, for now just an ultrasound.
